"Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say on a bright Hawaiian Christmas day That's the island greeting that we send to you From the land where palm trees sway"
Having lived in Hawaii, I can assure you that more people say Mele Kalikimaka than Merry Christmas and it is a lovely place to be for the holidays.
I ended up living there because I really, really wanted to live there and circumstances allowed me to make it happen. I thought that was it, make it there and there rest will fall into place, and if a few things worked put my way with my new business partner, I would be might be able to...find another thing to reach for and become consumed with. I was so consumed with success that a lot of times, while living in paradise, I was too busy chasing business and networking to really appreciate it. And I looked past the moment. What REALLY matters. We all do it. If's, when's, and always being too focused on the future goals can dominate us. We go from one thing to the next not really enjoying where we actually are in our drive up the success ladder. We look past what we have accomplished and why we got started doing what we do. We stopped living in the moment. My message in this late-night post is this: Stop and enjoy EVERY step of the journey. The present step you are on is the only one that you should be totally in on. It's my mindset every time the house in the morning. What experiences will today bring? And go...
Mele Kalikimaka,
